High performance viewfinder
which outperforms DSLR versions
One of the great benenfits of an electronic viewfinder is that 'what
you see is what you get'; the final image is displayed in real-time so
any Film Simulation modes or other effects can be checked while
shooting. But users sometimes need to see colors close to how they're
viewed with an optical finder, or to focus on shadow detail, which
some high-contrast effects block out. To aid this, the Natural Live
View function has been added and, when "PREVIEW PIC. EFFECT"
is turned Off in the menu, an image close to the naked eye is
displayed  during live view.
Adaptable Live View Mode is
ready for anything.
Whether it's through a viewfinder, on an LCD screen, or with the naked eye, we all see color differently, so to ensure that
users get the perfect view, vividness of the image displayed can now be adjusted through 11 levels, from -5 to +5. This
function can be controlled separately for the electronic viewfinder and the LCD monitor, so it remains totally effective no
matter what the lighting conditions or shooting style.
11 adaptable vividness levels guarantee the perfect view

The optical viewfinder in a DSLR requires a mirror box that makes noise as
it moves up and down during an exposure, but the X-T1 has a special
design with no such mechanism, so shooting is quieter. To complement this,
even the sound of the shutter opening and closing can now be removed
thanks to the new electronic shutter mode. No noise at the beginning or end
of the exposure makes the camera incredibly useful for subjects like nature,
weddings, or live events when users need to remain quiet.

*The functions listed on this page are new to the X-T1 Graphite Silver Edition.
Please see the X-T1 Black catalogue or the website for all other functions.

1. Direct selection of AF Area
To make focusing changes easier through the
viewfinder, the update will let users select
the focus area using the 4-way controller and
menu button, and bring the focus area back
to the centre of the viewfinder without
pressing the Fn key.
3. Changeable Focus Area during MF
When working in Manual focus mode, the
update will enable changing the size of the
focus area during One Push AF with the
AF-L button.
4. Direct selection of  Macro mode
In Autofocus mode, the update will enable
the Macro function to be turned on or off,
without accessing the pop-up menu screen.
5. Q Menu customisation
To make the Q Menu (used for quick access
of frequently-used items) even more efficient,
the update will allow items and layout of its
4x4 palette to be changed to the user’s
preference.
6. New video frame rates
As well as the existing 60fps and 30fps
selections, 50fps, 25fps and 24fps options will
be available with the update. 50fps and 25fps
allow video editing in the PAL regions, such
as Europe, without converting the frame
rate. 24fps offers a cinema-like view.
7. Manual shooting in Video mode
Previously limited to setting aperture before
recording and exposure compensation during
shooting video, the update will also enable ISO
sensitivity selection prior to shooting, as well as
the ability to adjust aperture and shutter speed
during movie recording.
8. Phase Detection AF support
    for Instant AF
In Instant AF mode, which is operated by
pressing the AF-L button during manual
focusing, the update will enable Phase
Detection AF, providing faster focusing speeds
than the previous Contrast Detect AF.
9. Interlocking of Metering and AF areas
By combining spot metering functions with the
movable AF area, instead of it being fixed in
the center as before, spot metering can be
achieved wherever the camera is focused.
10. Expansion of shutter speed
       in Program Shift mode
In the current Program Shift mode, the
slowest-speed setting is 1/4sec, but this will
increase to a maximum of 4secs.

2. Unlocked AE-L/AF-L buttons
The function of the AE-L/AF-L button is
currently locked, but will be interchangeable,
depending on the user’s preference.
When using lenses with very wide apertures, like the Fujinon XF35mmF1.4
R and the XF56mmF1.2 R, it's possible to acheive a very shallow
depth-of-field and beautiful bokeh along with a sharp subject. However,
when using these wide apertures in very bright light, like on a sunny day,
shutter speed can limit shooting options and mean the widest aperture
settings are unavailable. To fix this, the X-T1 Graphite Silver Edition now
includes an electronic shutter mode with a top speed of 1/32000sec,
meaning you can use wide apertures more easily than ever before.
High-speed 1/32000sec electronic shutter
Natural Live View gives
a view close to the naked eye.
The X-T1 Graphite Silver Edition's quality shine is achieved through the six advanced stages.       First
comes the milled magnesium top cover from the mold.     A chemical conversion coating is applied to
prevent oxidation via contact with air.      Using a black base coat (primer), the shadow areas are darkened,
allowing the highlights to stand out.      Using multiple thin-layer technology, the graphite silver texture is
added. Tiny amounts of graphite are applied via computer control while rotating the body at high speeds.
A minor amount of black is added to the clear finish coating material, creating the unique glossy feel.
Areas such as the logo are colored by hand.
