The Shooting Menu
 Aspect Ratio
Pictures taken at an image quality setting of q have 
an aspect ratio of 3 : 2, the same as a frame of 35-mm 
fi lm.  Pictures taken at other settings have an aspect 
ratio of 4 : 3.

Control the camera’s sensitivity to light.  Higher 
values can be used to reduce blur when lighting 
is poor; note, however, that mottling may appear 
in pictures taken at high sensitivities.  If AUTO is 
selected, the camera will adjust sensitivity auto-
matically in response to shooting conditions.
In shooting modes other than M, sensitivity is 
set to AUTO; other values can not be selected.
Settings other than AUTO 
are shown by an icon in the 
monitor.

Enhance contrast and color saturation or take pic-
tures in black and white.

yv-CHROME
Vivid contrast and color.  Choose for 
vivid shots of fl owers or enhanced 
greens and blues in landscapes. 
 
Available only in AUTO,  A,  B, 
N, C, and M modes.
zv-B&W
Take pictures in black and white.
Settings other than v-STANDARD are shown by 
an icon in the monitor.
 Notes
•  1 COLOR is not reset when the camera is
turned off  or another shooting mode is selected.
• 
Depending on the subject, the eff ects  of 
yv-CHROME may not be visible in the monitor.
