If the media fed from Tray 2, but is caught between Tray 1 and Tray 2 in the media path, the operator panel may indicate a 

 instead. If so, clear the jam as follows.

Remove the standard tray.

Pull the jammed media up and then out of the tray.

Insert the tray.

The media is jammed behind the inner door, but not under the photoconductor units. The operator panel indicates a 

.

To avoid overexposing the photoconductor units to light, do not leave the inner door open longer than 
10 minutes while clearing this jam.

Open the upper door and the inner door. The lower door comes open with the inner door.

Pull the jammed media up and out.

Close the lower door. This closes the inner door. Close the upper door.
