DVD+VCR User’s Guide
Special Recording Options
Recording from a Camcorder 
or other Device
Follow these steps to record from a 
camcorder or other external device.
Connect your external device to the 
front panel or rear panel inputs; see 
pages 18-19.
Press TV VIEW repeatedly to select:
Video 1 - If the device is connected to 
the rear Audio/Video Inputs.
Video 2 - If the device is connected to 
the front Audio/Video Inputs.
Insert a recordable VHS tape.
Press VCR to control the VCR deck.
Press SPEED to select the desired 
recording quality (SP or SLP).
Cue the external device and start 
playback at the beginning of the 
scene you wish to record.
Press REC on the DVD+VCR to start 
recording.
•  To pause recording, press PLAY.
•  To resume recording, press PLAY or 
REC.
•  To view the status of your recording, 
press DISPLAY.
•  To add recording time in fi xed incre-
ments, see One-Touch Recording at 
right.
When fi nished, press STOP to stop 
recording.
One-Touch Recording
Press REC repeatedly to add record-
ing time in 30-minute or 1-hour incre-
ments (up to 9 hours with a T-180 
tape in SLP mode).
Recording will stop automatically 
when the selected Record Length has 
elapsed.
To cancel One-Touch Recording, 
press REC repeatedly until “Record 
Length” disappears from the on-
screen display.
Copying DVD to VHS
Insert your DVD.
•  You cannot record copy-protected 
DVD discs.
Insert a recordable VHS tape.
Press DVD to control the DVD deck.
Press PLAY to play the DVD.
Press REC to start recording.
When fi nished, press STOP to stop 
recording.
Watch & Record Options
•  To watch a DVD while a VHS 
recording is in progress, press the 
DVD button and then press PLAY. 
•  To watch another channel while 
a VHS recording is in progress, 
press TV/VCR then select the de-
sired channel on your TV (Anten-
na or Basic Cable TV connections 
only).

•  You cannot copy from DVD to VHS in Progressive Scan mode. To switch to Interlace 
Scan mode, press and hold P.SCAN for 5 seconds.
