RECORDING AN AUDIO SOURCE
FUNCTION
FUNCTION
INPUT MODE
1 Select the program source to be recorded.
Turn FUNCTION (or press FUNCTION repeatedly).
2 Set the tape deck or MD recorder to recording
mode.
3 Start the selected program source.
NOTE
• Any sound control system has no ef
fect on recording (see page
9).
• Input sound through the DIGIT AL IN terminals cannot be
recorded. When recording the sound from the DVD, CD, MD or
LD player , connect the analog  AUDIO OUT terminals of the
player to the corresponding 
AUDIO IN terminals of the receiver .
The sound will be recorded in 2 ch stereo.
• Input sound from the tape deck connected to the 
TAPE IN
terminals cannot be recorded.
WHEN THE “OVER LEVEL” INDICATOR
LIGHTS UP
When input analog signals from the connected equipment are
too high to accept, the 
OVER LEVEL
 indicator lights up. In this
case, adjust the input level so that the indicator disappears.
To lower the sound level of the connected source
When the analog sound level of the connected source is higher
than that of the FM and  AM functions, adjust it as follows.
1 Select the function to be adjusted.
Turn FUNCTION and play the source.
2 Press TUNING

 repeatedly.
The level is decreased as follows.
0 dB
–6 dB
–12 dB
To restore the previous level, press 
TUNING 
N
 repeatedly .
• When the analog output of the CD player or DVD player is 2
Vrms, set the level to –6 dB.
