To Reduce the Risk of Fire in the Oven
Cavity:
o   Use only oven-suitable containers in the
oven.
o   Remove wire twist-ties from paper or
plastic bags being placed in the oven.
For oven cooking bags—DO NOT use
wire twist-ties to close the bag.
o   If materials inside the oven should
ignite, keep the oven door closed, turn
the oven off and shut off power at the
fuse or circuit breaker panel. If the door
is opened, the fi re may spread.
o   DO NOT cook items wrapped in cling
wrap or plastic fi lm.
o   DO NOT overcook food. Carefully
attend to the oven if paper, plastic, or
other combustible materials are placed
inside the oven to facilitate cooking.
•
DO NOT Touch Heating Elements Or
Interior Surfaces of Oven
Heating elements may be hot even though
they are dark in color. Interior surfaces of
an oven become hot enough to cause
burns. During and after use, DO NOT
touch, or let clothing or other fl ammable
materials contact the heating elements or
interior surfaces of oven until they have
had suffi cient time to cool.
Precautions to Avoid Possible
Exposure to Excessive Microwave
Energy
•
DO NOT attempt to operate the top
oven with the door open since open-door
operation can result in harmful exposure to
microwave energy. It is important NOT to
defeat or tamper with the safety interlocks.
•
DO NOT place any object between the
oven front face and the door or allow
soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on
sealing surfaces.
•
The oven should not be adjusted or
repaired by anyone except properly
qualifi ed personnel.
•
DO NOT operate the oven if it is
damaged. It is particularly important
that the oven door close properly and
that there is no damage to the: (1) door
(bent), (2) hinges and latches (broken or
loosened), or (3) door seals and sealing
surfaces.
