■ Capturing Videos
You can capture videos using the HDC-401EX. Captured videos can be played directly on
the camera or viewed on a TV by connecting the camera using the supplied video cable.

Open the lens cover and press the power
switch to turn on the power.
The camera will enter the Still Image Capture mode.

Press the shutter.
When you hear a“bleep”sound and see REC on the
LCD monitor, this indicates that the camera has
begun video capture.
The LCD monitor shows REC and the elapsed 
time during video capture.

To stop video capture, press the shutter.
The camera stops the capture after emitting a
“bleep”sound.

The capture stops automatically when the available memory drops to below 
the required level.
The white balance          , Exposure(EV)          , color          and Close-Up mode     
are effective during video capture, but other settings are disabled.
The above data size and recording time are reference values assuming the 
(Full Color) mode          . The actual size and time will vary, depending on the
subject and capture conditions.
To play the recorded video files on a computer, you will need Windows Media
Player or other playback software supporting the recording image file format
(MPEG1) of the HDC-401EX.
