To reach a physical or virtual extension, or 
the operator, Meeting Room, or PA, dial the 
number directly.

To dial an outside telephone number, dial 

 

first, followed by the number.

If you are using a non-BizTouch phone, then 
the 

 key is used to put a call on hold. You 

may find that when you are connected to an 
Automated Bank Teller, or an airline reserva-
tion system, or another voice mail system, 
you need to use the 

 key to perform a func-

tion specific to that call. 

In this case, you have the ability to disable 
the Hold function for the 

 key for the dura-

tion of a call. 

The Hold function is disabled if you press 
the 

 key. You can press  when you pick 

up the phone to call, so that Hold is disabled 
throughout the call, or you can press 

 once 

the call is on hold.

Please note that you can still put a call on 
hold after the 

 hold function is disabled, by 

pressing the Flash key found on many tele-
phones, or by manually hookflashing (press-
ing as if to hang up, very briefly).

As soon as the call is terminated, the 

 key 

reverts to its normal function.
