Please note the following changes and additions to the features described in the camera manual.

The following options are available when AUTO is se-
lected:

The camera automatically chooses a sensitivity be-
tween the default and maximum values.  Sensitivity is 
only raised above the default value if the shutter speed 
required for optimal exposure would be slower than 
the value selected for MIN. SHUTTER SPEED.

 

R If the value selected for DEFAULT SENSITIVITY is higher than 

that selected for MAX. SENSITIVITY, DEFAULT SENSITIV-
ITY will be set to the value selected for MAX. SENSITIVITY.

 

R The camera may select shutter speeds slower than MIN. 

SHUTTER SPEED if pictures would still be underexposed 
at the value selected for MAX. SENSITIVITY.

To preview exposure in the LCD monitor, select ON 
for 

A SCREEN SET-UP > PREVIEW EXP. IN MANU-

AL MODE. Select OFF when using the fl ash or on 
other occasions on which exposure may change 
when the picture is taken.

Exposure Lock
While exposure is locked by pressing the AE/AF lock but-
ton or by keeping the shutter button pressed halfway, 
shutter speed (exposure mode S) or aperture (exposure 
mode A) can be changed without aff ecting exposure.

Continuous Shooting
Pictures taken in continuous mode are now displayed 
in the same way as other pictures.

 

R Pictures taken in continuous mode are now named using 

the prefi x “DSCF” or “_DSF”.

File Names
The fi le name prefi x (“DSCF” or “_DSF”) can be changed 
using the EDIT FILE NAME option in the setup menu:

The entire prefi x can be changed.

The entire prefi x can be changed.

_DSF

_DSF

The “DSF” portion can be changed.

The “DSF” portion can be changed.
