No sound from 

speaker

1 Verify that volume setting in Control Panel is set to 1 or 

above.

2 Reset PRAM.

3 Replace speaker.

4 Replace logic board. Retain customer’s SIMMs.

System hangs when 

first application 

launches

Replace Apple-labeled SIMMs manufactured by NEC that have date 

code of 9052 or below. 

System displays ID 

error and then locks

Replace Apple-labeled SIMMs manufactured by NEC that have date 

code of 9052 or below.
