To open the Audio Settings page
Click the Setup button
in the DTV control panel, and then click the
Audio tab.

Decode and down-mix to 2 channels
Converts a Dolby® Digital audio stream to PCM (Pulse Code
Modulation — a method of digital encoding), and down-
mixes it to 2, 4, or 6 speakers.
Pass through to audio device
The audio decoder “passes-through” non-PCM multichannel
audio to an audio device that supports Dolby® Digital input.
