• To check if you’ve successfully connected your Lemur to your computer or a router,
check the Media display near the bottom of the screen. If connected, it will report the
speed of the connection (in the screen shown, it is 10 Megabits per second). If there is

Connecting a Lemur Directly to Your Computer
First, we’ll configure the Lemur to use a fixed IP address. The instructions for doing this
will be the same whether you’re using a Mac or a Windows machine.

• Turn on your Lemur and connect the Ethernet cable supplied with your Lemur to the
Ethernet jack on the back of the unit. Then connect the other end of the cable to your
computer’s Ethernet jack.

• Check the Settings Window on the Lemur. If your computer is turned on and
connected, the Media display should report the connection speed. If it says
Disconnected, make sure your computer is turned on, then check the cable and
connections.

touch the Apply button at the bottom of the screen.
• Next, drag your finger over the IP address value. Use the “keypad” at the right of the
screen to enter an IP address. If you don’t need to use a particular address, use

keypad if it’s necessary to change the current value).
• For Gateway, enter 0.0.0.0.
