Q. What’s new in r2 of the CA Protection Suites? 
A. The CA Protection Suites r2 offer the following new features that make it even easier to deploy and 
manage:

Industry’s first and only fully integrated data protection solutions that combine security, 
storage and migration for total protection of critical IT assets. 

• 

Fully integrated, Web-based central management console that administers security, storage 
and migration from a single console. 

• 

Single, streamlined installation process. 

 
Q. What operating systems do the CA Protection Suites support?  
A. The CA Protection Suites support Windows 2000 and higher. If you require support for additional 
operating systems, you will need to purchase the standalone versions of the products offered in the 
suites. 
 
Q. Are the CA Protection Suites available in localized languages? 
A. Yes.  The suites are available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian-Portugese, 
Simplified- and Traditional-Chinese, Japanese and Korean.  Support for the following languages will 
be available during 1Q CY06:

Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Russian, Norwegian, Finnish, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish 
and Greek 

 
Q. Can the CA Protection Suites scale to meet the growing needs of my business? 
A. Yes.  Additional users can be purchased in increments of 5, 10 or 20. 
 
Q. I have 12 computers.  Do I have to buy another 10 user pack?  
A. Yes. Since the base package includes the capacity to support 5 computers because you have 12 
you would need one 10 user add-on pack. 
 
Q. Where can I order the CA Protection Suites?  
A. CA is distributing the CA Protection Suites worldwide through the following channels:

North America – The CA Desktop Protection Suite, CA Server Protection Suite and CA Business 
Protection Suite are available through CA’s channel launch partners CDW, PC Mall and Tiger 
Direct and through CA’s influencer program (Trusted Agents).  In addition to the launch partners, 
the CA Business Protection Suites for Microsoft Small Business Server are available to resellers 
through distribution. All of the suites are available online at MSRP at

Worldwide – The suites are available through the CA’s worldwide reseller channel partners in 
Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Asia Pacific.  

 
Q. Can customers buy both CA Desktop Protection Suite and CA Server Protection Suite?  
A. Yes. The CA Protection Suites are designed to meet their needs, and as a result, they work 
independently or together.  However, if they need to protect both servers and desktops, they should 
consider the CA Business Protection Suite. 
 
Q. With the introduction of CA Business Protection Suites, what is the future of the individual 
products contained in the suites?  
A. Because each company is unique in what it needs, CA will continue to offer the individual products 
as standalone solutions.
