Figure 2-1 shows a flowchart of the installation procedure. As you complete 

each step, check off the “Done” box on the right. Please use this flowchart 

in conjunction with the instructions that follow.  

 

 
 

Unpack the unit, drives, and accessories. 

Accessory items include an RS-232C audio jack cable, power cords, a null modem, and a 

product utility CD containing the RAIDWatch program. 

 

You must install the following components: 

ƒ  Hard drives (SATA-I or SATA-II disk drives) 
ƒ  BBU module (if ordered)
