Advanced still image shooting
  Shooting with shutter 
speed priority
You can adjust the shutter speed manually.
If you shoot a moving subject at a higher 
shutter speed, it appears as if frozen on the 
image. At a lower shutter speed, the subject 
appears as if it is fl owing. Aperture value 
is automatically adjusted to attain correct 
exposure according to the brightness of the 
subject.

  Set the mode dial to S.
  Select a shutter speed with the 
jog dial.

The shutter speed can be selected from 
1/1000 to 30 seconds.
If you select certain shutter speeds*, 
the NR slow shutter function is 
automatically activated. In such cases, 
“NR” is indicated next to shutter speed 
indicator.
* When [ISO] is [800]:
Shutter speeds of 1/25 second or 
slower
When [ISO] is other than [800]:
Shutter speeds of 1/6 second or 
slower
  Shoot the image.
  Shutter speeds of one second or longer are 
indicated with [“] after the value, such as 1”.
  If the proper exposure is not obtained after 
making the settings, the setting value indicators 
on the screen fl ash when the shutter button is 
pressed halfway down. You can shoot in this 
condition, but we recommend that you adjust 
the fl ashing values again.
 The fl ash is set to  (Forced fl ash) or 
(No 
fl ash).
  When the shutter speed is high, the amount 
of fl ash light may be insuffi cient even if you 
strobes the fl ash.
