TAR copiers to have an ‘Off Mode’ feature 

that automatically turns the copier off after a period of inactivity, ensuring night and weekend shutoff. The copier 
must also automatically change to a ‘Low Power Mode’ (Automatic Energy Save) after a period of time since the 
last usage.

Multifunction copiers to have a ‘Sleep Mode’ feature that automatically makes the copier enter the sleep mode 
after a period of inactivity. The copier must also automatically change to a ‘Low Power Mode’ (Automatic Energy 
Save) after a period of time since the last usage.
Specifically, this copier complies with the following requirements.

The copier consumes less than 93.55 watts (e-STUDIO230)/112.8 watts (e-STUDIO280) during Energy
Save.

The default time for the ‘Automatic Energy Save’ is 15 minutes.

The copier consumes less than 15 watts in the ‘Off Mode’.

The default time for the ‘Off Mode’ is 40 minutes.

The copier consumes less than 138.55 watts (e-STUDIO230)/157.80 watts (e-STUDIO280) during Energy
Save.

The default time for the ‘Automatic Energy Save’ is 15 minutes.

The copier consumes less than 80 watts in the ‘Sleep Mode’.

The default time for the ‘Sleep Mode’ is 40 minutes.

The default setting for the ‘Off Mode’ or ‘Sleep Mode’ and ‘Automatic Energy Save’ can be changed.

For Multifunction model, if the Fax or printer data is received in the sleep mode, the copier starts 
warming itself up and prints out the data when it becomes ready. Also, when the start button or the 
energy saver button on the control panel is pressed, the copier starts warming itself up.

For Base model, the copier automatically shuts off in off mode. To use the copier again, turn the power 
switch on.

For Base model, after an automatic shutoff, weekly timer feature cannot be activated. If you prefer to 
activate this feature, contact you authorized Toshiba dealer.
