Cylinder Mount Build-Up Tapes give the flexo

printer the flexibility to easily and cost effectively take 

advantage of the print quality improvements of thin plates.
The print quality improvements are evident in the images
below. The images are magnified 50 times and were
printed on 2 mil polyethylene film, water-based magenta
ink, 600 line, 3.0 bcm anilox, line speed of 600 fpm, 
2 mil impression.

Cylinder Mount Build-Up Tapes consist of a 

single-coated, solvent-free acrylic adhesive with paper
liner on a translucent vinyl carrier that is pliable and 
non-compressible. These pressure sensitive tapes offer 
a variety of advantages in flexographic printing.

Less expensive than new cylinders, 

changing gears or adding sleeves

Better results because they 

allow the use of thinner plates and tapes

: Uniform caliper throughout the 

roll helps avoid inconsistencies in print quality 

Provides good initial 

adhesion and holding power 

Allows easy repositioning 

and clean removal

Can remain on the cylinder 

for multiple print cycles while resisting 
solvents, heat and cuts typical of stiffer vinyls

Pliable vinyl is easy to cut 

and allows clean edges

Conformance 

to the plate cylinder simplifies handling and 
minimizes air entrapment

Cylinder Mount Build-Up Tapes comprise three different thicknesses

• 1620: a 20-mil tape with a translucent vinyl carrier

• 1640: a 40-mil tape with a translucent vinyl carrier 

• 1650: a 50-mil tape with a translucent bronze tinted vinyl carrier
