INITIAL PREPARATION
Each meter is supplied complete with batteries. Remove the back
cover, unwrap the batteries and install them while paying attention
to the polarity.
To prepare the instrument for use, connect the pH electrode to the
BNC connector located on the top of the instrument. Then connect the
temperature probe to the appropriate connector. The temperature
probe can be used independently to take temperature measurements,
or it can be used in conjunction with the
pH electrode to utilize the meter's ATC
capability. If the temperature probe is left
disconnected, a default temperature of 25°C
is assumed and the "C" symbol blinks.

To maximize battery life, the display is auto-
matically switched off after 5 minutes of non-use.
However, the meter will continue to monitor (if
in the logging or recording mode) pH and
temperature. To revive the display, press the
RANGE key. Before proceeding with pH mea-
surements follow the calibration procedure.
