Changing the sensitivity setting
(
S ISO)
Use this menu to specify required sensitivity setting of the
ambient light around the subject.
The larger value of the sensitivity, the higher sensitivity is
obtained. The higher sensitivity settings will allow you to
take pictures in darker locations.
CHECK
• Settings
AUTO/AUTO(1600)/AUTO(400)/
1600/800/400/200/100
Selecting AUTO/AUTO(1600)/AUTO(400) as the
sensitivity setting, the camera selects the best
sensitivity setting for the subject’s brightness.
• Setting range in AUTO
Equivalent to ISO 100 to 2000 (varies depending on the
Shooting mode)
• About AUTO(1600)/AUTO(400)
AUTO(1600)/AUTO(400) can be selected when the

SHOOTING MODE is set to s. For AUTO(1600)/
AUTO(400), sensitivity is automatically set in the same
way as for AUTO, but the highest sensitivity is limited.
Select AUTO(1600)/AUTO(400) depending on the
scene.
MEMO
• Sensitivity is retained even when the camera is turned
off or the mode setting is changed.
• When anything other than s in the
 SHOOTING
MODE is selected, only AUTO can be selected for the
ISO (sensitivity) setting.
CAUTION
Although higher sensitivity settings will allow you to take
pictures in darker locations, they will also increase the
amount of speckling in your images. Choose the
sensitivity setting that best suits the conditions.
The selected sensitivity
setting appears on the
LCD monitor when the
sensitivity setting is set
to another setting
excluding AUTO.
