DIGITAL ZOOM
You can use the digital zoom function for all
Resolution (File Size) settings other than “2400 
1800”.
To use the digital zoom
Use the optical zoom to zoom in fully (telephoto)
and then press the “T” button again.
To revert to optical zoom
Use the digital zoom to zoom out fully (wide-
angle) and then press the “W” button again.
A  “zoom bar” appears on the screen. If the
image on the screen is difficult to make out,
press the shutter button down halfway.

1600 
1200 : Equivalent to approx. 210 mm– 315 mm (1.5
)
1280 
960 : Equivalent to approx. 210 mm– 393 mm (1.875
)
640   
480 : Equivalent to approx. 210 mm– 787 mm (3.75

: Equivalent to approx. 35 mm– 66 mm (1.875

You cannot use the flash in this mode.

The continuous photography speed is the same
regardless of the quality and file size settings.

The focus and exposure are determined for the first
frame and cannot be changed during shooting.
Continuous shooting can be specified in all
photography modes except “

Selecting continuous shooting allows you to
shoot up to 5 frames continuously at intervals as
short as 0.2 seconds.
When you press the “

” button, the “
&
” icon is
displayed and continuous shooting is selected.
Press the “
&
” button again to cancel continuous
shooting.
preview screen appears when you take a picture.
The images are displayed in chronological order
from the left side of the screen. To record the
images, press the “MENU/OK” button. To continue
without recording the images, press the “BACK”
button.

You cannot use the digital zoom for resolutions of
2400 
1800.

The optical zoom is equivalent to approximately 
35 mm – 210 mm on a 35 mm camera.

When you switch to digital zoom, the video image on
the LCD monitor no longer changes smoothly.
