The Discharging rechargeable batteries function can only 
be used with Ni-MH batteries.
The Discharging rechargeable batteries function should 
not be used with alkaline batteries or lithium batteries as 
it will completely drain the battery charge.
Use the Discharging rechargeable batteries function in 
the following situations:
• When the batteries only last for a short time after being 

charged normally

• When the batteries have not been used for a long period
• When you purchase new Ni-MH batteries
Do not use the Discharging rechargeable batteries 
function while using the AC power adapter and DC 
coupler. In these situations, the Ni-MH batteries will not 
be discharged due to the external power supply.

To discharge rechargeable batteries:

To cancel discharging, press DISP/BACK.

A Press w to turn the camera on.

B Press MENU/OK to display the menu on 

the screen.

C Press n or o to select [U SET-UP].

D Press q to display the [SET-UP] menu.

E Press p or q to select

F Press n or o to select 

[

 

DISCHARGE].

G Press q.

H Press MENU/OK.

I Press p or q to select [OK].

J The screen changes and discharging 

begins. When the battery level indicator 
blinks red and discharging ends, the 
camera turns off.
