m FORMAT

Format internal memory or a memory card. If a 
memory card is inserted in the camera, x will 
be displayed in the dialog and this option will 
format the memory card. If no memory card is 
inserted, 

d will be displayed and this option will 

format internal memory. Highlight OK and press 
MENU/OK to begin formatting.

•  All data—including protected pictures—will be 

deleted. Be sure important files have been copied to 
a computer or other storage device.

•  Do not open the battery cover during formatting.

Choose how long pictures are displayed in the 
monitor after shooting.
•  3 SEC: Pictures are displayed for about 3 s before 

being recorded to the memory card.

•  1.5 SEC: Pictures are displayed for about 1.5 s 

before being recorded to the memory card.

•  ZOOM (CONTINUOUS): Pictures are displayed until 

the MENU/OK button is pressed. Pictures taken 
at image sizes larger than 

p can be zoomed 

in to check fine details (see page 41). Note that 
this option is disabled in continuous mode 
(pg. 67) and when A or N is selected for 
A SHOOTING MODE.

•  OFF: Pictures are not displayed automatically 

after shooting.

•  The colors displayed at settings of 3 SEC and 

1.5 SEC may differ from those in the final picture.
