The metering mode refers to the way in which a camcorder measures the quantity of light. The 
brightness and lighting of your photos will vary depending on the metering mode you select.

Select the Photo record (

) mode by pressing the MODE button.

1.  Touch the Menu (

) tab 

 “Metering”  touch the desired 

submenu item.

2.  To exit the menu, touch the Return (

) tab.

): Meters the light by calculating the amount of light from 

different areas in the frame. Suitable for normal capturing. 
Centre (

): The amount of light metered on the centre of the frame 

influences the whole screen. Suitable for capturing persons as the 
subject occupies a large portion of the frame. 
Spot (

): Measures only the centre of the screen and determines 

aperture. Use this function when there is a severe brightness 
difference between background and objects.

Using the xvYCC function, you can record a video with the extended colours by expanding a 
colour space. A video of colourful flowers or deep blue sea can be recorded in virtual colours.

Select the Video record (

) mode by pressing the MODE button.

Off: Disables the function. 
On(

): Records images with vivid and various colours.

You can enjoy the recorded xvYCC video in the optimal condition when playing it back on the TV 
supporting xvYCC. Refer to the TV’s manual for details.
