Zoom microphone adjusts the audio volume as the optical zoom setting so that it can focus on 
the audio of the front subject as zooming in. For example, when zooming in the bird on the tree 
branch, the internal zoom microphone automatically zooms in the sound so that you can record 
a bird’s chirpings. 

Select the Video record (

) mode by pressing the MODE button.

1.  Touch the Menu (

) tab 

 “Zoom MIC”  touch the desired 

submenu item.

2.  To exit the menu, touch the Return (

) tab.

Audio pitch can be adjusted according to the use of the optical zoom. You can record the vivid audio 
as coming closer because the zooming-in increases the audio recording level of the internal zoom 
microphone.

Off: Disables the function.
On (

):  The internal zoom microphone depends on the optical 

zoom setting.

Zoom microphone is not available when the external microphone is used.
When using the Zoom microphone or Voice Reduction function, do not close the LCD screen or 
cover the internal zoom microphone on the left of the camcorder.
When you specify “Zoom MIC: On”, “Voice Reduction” is set to “Off” automatically.
