Connecting a serial mouse

Switch off the notebook.
Ê
Connect the mouse to the serial port on the back of your notebook.
Ê
Run the mouse service programme under
Start - Settings - Control Panel
and select the
General
tab.
Ê
Select the correct mouse type.
Ê
Restart the notebook.
Connecting an external printer
Using the parallel port
Ê
Switch off the notebook.
Ê
Connect the printer data cable to the parallel port on the back of the notebook.
Ê
Plug the power cable of the printer into the mains outlet.
Ê
First switch on the printer, then the notebook.
