Pocket PC system requirements: 

•  Pocket PC 2000 or higher with a serial interface 

•  32 MB main memory 

•  Optional: an additional storage card to store bigger maps 

•  Optional: a wireless internet connection (Bluetooth in combination with GSM or GPRS) to download 

up-to-date traffic information whilst on the road  

 
Additional hardware requirements: 

•  A serial or a Bluetooth GPS receiver (NMEA 0183 v 2.0 Sirf StarII) 

•  Car mount 

•  Pocket PC connection cable (this cable is also required in case of a Bluetooth receiver and serves to 

feed your Pocket PC with power when used inside the car). 

 

IV. Software 

installation 

Before you can start using “ROUTE 66 Navigate 2004”, you first need to install the application on your PC 
and on your Pocket PC. To do that, follow the steps below: 
 

1.  Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.  
2.  Go to "Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs”.  
3.  Click “Add New Programs”. Then click “CD or Floppy” and follow the instructions on the screen. The 

“Choose Setup Language” window is displayed. Here you can choose the installation language from 
a list of 10 available languages. “American English” and “Romanian” are not included in the list – see 
the note at the end of this chapter. 

 

 

 

4.  Choose the language you want the installation to be performed in, e.g., "English," and click “Next”.
