Film Simulation modes offer rich color reproduction and varying tonality, as if choosing different types of film.

These include the standard mode PROVIA, exceptionally vivid colors in Velvia, and ASTIA,

which excels in reproducing skin tones. There's also Pro Neg.Std and Pro Neg.Hi for portraits,

based on color negative films for professional use.

Now a sixth choice has been added to Film Simulation, which gives a unique luster and depth to photos; Classic Chrome.

Classic Chrome was inspired by feedback and requests from X Series photographers

and its look is inspried by printed images in magazines from the glory days of phot journalism, rather than a specific film type.

With slightly muted tones and deep color reproduction, it's a clear departure from the existing five types.
