If you can’t match the beats with this method, most likely also the tempo of the Beatgrid has
been wrongly detected. In this case proceed as follows to set a correct tempo:
1.

Play the track in Deck A (turn off 

SYNC

).

2.

Tap the 

SHIFT

 button repeatedly (at least 5 times) to the beat of the music. In this proce-

dure you must try to be very precise. The longer you tap, the better the result you will get.
If you pause tapping for two seconds you can resume tapping from scratch.

→ If you managed to visually align the Beatgrid with the beats of the track you can proceed

as described above to also correct the offset.

The 

SHIFT

 button is a modifier: holding 

SHIFT

 depressed while using other control elements

grants you access to their secondary function.
This element always has the same functionality, regardless of the Deck Flavor (Track Deck or
Remix Deck). It is described in detail in section 

On a Track Deck, the 

SHIFT

 button can also help you to define the track’s Beatgrid manually.

This allows you to redefine the Grid of a track from your S4 on the fly, would the Beatgrid ever
appear to be wrong or missing. Tapping is used in conjunction with the 

SYNC
