Using the listening modes
The receiver’s listening modes can transform your
listening room into a movie theater or concert hall,
with high fidelity and stunning surround sound.
The following audio formats are supported by the
listening modes:
• MONO–This is mono (monophonic) sound. All the
audio signals are mixed and reproduced through
a single speaker.
• STEREO–This is stereo (stereophonic) sound. Two
independent audio signal channels are
reproduced through two speakers.
• 5.1ch–This is 5.1-channel surround sound. This
surround system has five main channels of sound
and a sixth subwoofer channel (called the
point-one channel).
• 7.1ch–This is 7.1-channel surround sound. This is
a further sound enhancement to 5.1 channel
sound with two additional speakers that provide
greater sound envelopment and more accurate
positioning of sounds. The receiver outputs this
source in 5.1-channel surround sound.
