Exposure Compensation
Your camera adjusts the exposure of each scene automatically. However, if the subject is
very dark, or very bright, you may override the camera automatic exposure determination
to make the subject brighter or darker. This is called EV compensation.
The EV compensation of the camera can be adjusted from -2.0EV to +2.0EV in 0.3EV steps.

Very bright scenes (such as snowfields) and highly reflective subjects

Negative (-) Compensation
Spot lit lighted subjects, particularly against dark backgrounds

Scenes with low reflectivity, such as shots of green or dark foliage.
When the camera is in [M] manual mode is set, the / buttons adjust the shutter speed,
and exposure compensation cannot be set.
