COURTESY SERVICE
 
This service is available, with a standard greeting, on all systems.  If the system is equipped with a Voice 
Module, you can customize the greeting. 
When the Courtesy Service feature is activated on a CO line, callers to the system are answered 
automatically after a programmable period, a message is returned to the caller and the internal phone or 
phones continue to ring.  
If a call rings in during “Day Service” and is not answered manually within the programmed time (30 
second default), the call is automatically answered with the following message:  “Thank you for calling.  
Your call will be answered shortly.  Please hold.” 
If a call rings in during “Night Service” and is not answered manually within the programmed time (30 
second default) the call is automatically answered with the following message:  “
 
There is no one available 
to take your call at this time.  Please call back during business hours.” 
The messages can be selected by programming to be in English, Spanish or French. 
While the message is being returned, the call continues to ring as an incoming call until an extension 
answers it. If the call is not answered within three minutes, it is automatically disconnected. 
On standard systems, without the voice mail module, the courtesy messages are supplied from the internal 
source. When a voice mail module is equipped in a system the courtesy messages are supplied from the 
voice mail module. The messages from the voice mail module can be customized. 
This service can be used where there can be delays in answering calls and you want to ensure that callers do 
not hang up before someone answers their call. 
To Program the Courtesy Service 
•  From the programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.    
•  Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until “System Programming” is displayed. 
•  Select “System Programming”. 
•  Enter the System Programming Password and select “Lines”. 
•  Select “Incoming ringing”. 
•  Select the line that is to be programmed. 
•  Select Day, Night, or Day and Night. 
•  Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until courtesy service is displayed. 
•  Select Courtesy service. 
Press the speakerphone key to finish programming. 
 
To Change the Courtesy Language 
•  From the Programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.    
•  Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until “System Programming” is displayed. 
•  Select “System Programming”. 
•  Enter the System Programming Password and select “System”. 
•  Select “Language”. 
•  Select “Courtesy Service”. 
•  Select the language required.
