3000-series Telephone Option PCBs

To receive Speaker Off-hook Call Announce (OCA) calls over the digital telephone speaker, a 
digital telephone must be upgraded with a BVSU; the telephone making the call does not require a 
BVSU. Digital telephones do not require an additional wire pair to receive Speaker OCA call. The 
BVSU is not necessary to receive handset OCA. 

1. Loosen the four captive screws on the telephone base and remove the base (see 

).

2. On the BVSU (see 

, set strip pins SW1 and SW2 per 

3. Slide the BVSU under the tabs. 

4. Position the BVSU holes over the standoffs and secure with the two provided screws. (Two 

large head screws for DKT3000s, four smaller head crews for the DKT2000.)

5. Connect the BVSU wire plugs to the two “PCI/VSU” connectors on the PCB inside the phone, 

with the red wire on the side where “RED” is silk-screened on the DKT PCB (see

6. Reinstall the telephone base and secure it with its four captive screws

SW1

6-terminal jumper plug

30 (default) - use for DKT3000 telephones.

20 Mu - use for DKT2000 telephones in Mu Law 
countries, including U.S. and Canada.
20A - use for DKT2000 in A Law countries.

SW2

3-terminal jumper plug

SPF (default setting). Use for all DKT3000 
DKT2000 telephones, except the DKT2010-H.

HFU - use for DKT2010-H telephones.
