*All Sony digital still cameras and camcorders except models DSCD-700, DSCD-770, DCR-TRV900, and DSR-PD100A store images on a Memory Stick media in the DCF file format, which is
required for playback on these televisions. If the image file is renamed or manipulated, the DCF file format must be restored before playback is possible. Images captured on all other digital still
cameras and camcorders will need to be formatted on a PC to the DCF file format (with third party software not supplied with the television) before they can be viewed.

XBR® Grand WEGA™ Rear Projection Television
Sony’s Proprietary WEGA Engine™ System consists of 3 key technologies engineered and
designed by Sony:
1- Direct Digital Circuitry The first step in the digital processing system, Direct Digital cir-
cuitry, which increases signal to noise ratio when converting the signal from analog to
digital.
2- Digital Reality Creation® MultiFunction V1 Circuitry Gives viewers control over the
level of DRC® circuitry depending on quality of input signal, thereby displaying clear, sta-
ble images, no matter what the video source.
3- MID® X (Multi Driver Image) Maintains the integrity of a converted signal by mini-
mizing image loss in the scaling process, providing unique Flexible Twin-View™ picture
and picture features.
Wide XGA LCD Panels
Three wide 0.87" XGA LCD panels, one for each RGB (Red, Green, Blue) signal that resolve
1,092,168 million dots. This provides a total picture resolution of 3.28 million dots for crisp,
precise picture detail.
Uniform Brightness Screen™ Technology
Superfine Pitch Lenticular Screen
Conventional CRT PJ = 0.72mm
Grand WEGA™ Rear Projection Television = 0.155mm
Wide (Vertical) Viewing Angle
Conventional CRT PJ = 34 Degrees
Grand WEGA™ Rear Projection Television = 60 Degrees
Optical Engine
Sony’s original engine, that provides a high-resolution picture from corner to corner across
the entire screen; it also renders an image with high brightness utilizing a 120W UHP (Ultra
High Pressure) Lamp that can be easily replaced by the owner.
CineMotion® Reverse 3-2 Pull-Down Technology
A fixed algorithm irrespective of source which preserves the integrity of movie film frames to
create the best possible image.
