RELATED GOVERNMENT REGULATORY, INDUSTRY SPECIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
3M
and Scotch-Brite are trademarks of 3M Company.
Labor Reduction: Bristle discs can result in a 50 percent reduction in labor for small corrosion and paint removal
application. The uniform concentration of mineral provides a high, consistent cut rate throughout the life of the
product resulting in a more even finish.
Reduces the Need for Rework: Bristle discs will not abrade or gouge bare metal like other rotary products (i.e.
flap brushes and wheels). Flexible bristles conform to the contours of the part for consistent results without
removing base material. This reduces damage and the need for rework.
Reduces Surface Temperature: Scotch-Brite
Radial Bristle Discs generate less than 100ºF surface temperature
while other abrasive wheels may generate temperatures in excess of 200ºF.
Reduces Treatment Area: Since the bristle discs are more precise, they do not enlarge the treatment area.
Easier to Use: The bristle disc requires 1.5 pounds of hand pressure to be applied to the grinder, as compared to
abrasive wheels that require up to 12 pounds of hand pressure to do the same job.
