13. Operation
Only take the device into operation after familiarising yourself with its functions and these opera-
ting instructions.

Check all the connections again.
a) Switching On/Off, Standby
•  The receiver can be switched on or off via the on/off switch (A).
In the deactivated position, the button of the on/off switch protrudes a little farther from the de-
vice than in the activated position. In this position, the receiver will not react to commands from
the IR remote control.
•  If you have switched on the receiver, the standby LED (B) below the on/off switch (A) lights up. The
receiver is now in standby mode.
•  Push the button „AMPLIFIER STANDBY“ (1) on the enclosed IR remote control (insert batteries first, see
chapter 11).
•  „PWR ON“ appears briefly on the display of the receiver; then the display switches to the last operating
mode that was set.
The receiver is now ready for operation and can play back, e.g., music from a CD player on the connected
speakers.
•  Push the button „AMPLIFIER STANDBY“ (1) on the IR-remote control again to put the receiver in standby
mode. The display briefly shows „PWR OFF“, then the display goes out and the standby-LED (B) lights
up.
•  If the receiver is to be switched off entirely, push the on/off switch (A) on the front of the receiver.
b) Setting the Volume
•  Turn the volume controller (see chapter 9, position „H“) to the left counter-clockwise to reduce volume.
Alternatively to this, you can use the button „VOLUME -“ (25) on the enclosed IR remote control (for quick
adjustment, keep the button pushed).
•  Turn the volume controller to the right clockwise to increase the volume. Alternatively to this, you can
use the button „VOLUME +“ (25) on the enclosed IR remote control (for quick adjustment, keep the button
pushed).
Setting the volume too high, e.g., when playing back music, may lead to hearing damage.

Therefore, always select a pleasant setting that is not too high.
The volume controller has no mechanical end position but turning to the left or right will digitally
reduce or increase the volume in small steps.

The volume can be set in 70 stages. The respective value appears during adjustment in the dis-
play („MIN VOL“ <-> „VOL 1“ <-> „VOL 2“ ...... „VOL 69“ <-> „MAX VOL“).
