Choose how the camera focuses.

* Shutter can only be released if camera is able to focus.

: The camera automatically selects AF-S if the subject is

stationary, AF-C if it is moving.

: For stationary subjects.  Focus locks when the shutter-

release button is pressed halfway.

: For subjects in motion.  The camera focuses continu-

ously while the shutter-release button is pressed halfway. Photos
can be taken whether or not the camera is in focus.

: For subjects in motion.  The camera focuses continu-

ously; photos can be taken whether or not the camera is in focus.

: Focus manually (

0 147). Photos can be taken whether

or not the camera is in focus.

The options available vary with the shooting mode.

AF-A (default), AF-S, AF-C, MF

AF-F (default), AF-S, MF

AF-S (default), MF

* AF-A is used when 10 fps is selected for Continuous > Electronic (Hi),

AF-S when 30 fps or 60 fps is selected.
