To connect the AM loop antenna

• If the AM loop antenna wire or speaker cords are covered
with vinyl, remove the vinyl to expose the tip of the
antenna by twisting the vinyl.
• Make sure the antenna conductors do not touch any other
terminals, connecting cords or power cord. Also keep the
antennas away from the metallic parts of the System,
connecting cords, and the AC power cord. This could cause
poor reception.

To connect the speaker cords

Connect the right speaker to the R terminals, and the left
speaker to the L terminals.
When connecting the speaker cords, match the polarity of
the speaker terminals: gray cord (+) to red (+), and gray cord
with black stripe (–) to black (–).

Changing the Scanning Mode

This System supports progressive scanning.
If you connect a progressive TV through the COMPONENT
jacks, you can enjoy a high quality picture from the built-in
DVD player by selecting progressive mode. And in that case,
set the VIDEO OUT SELECTOR to Y/C (see below).

Selecting the Video Signal

After connecting the TV, set the video signal type correctly
for your TV. The VIDEO OUT SELECTOR is on the back
of the System
• Make sure the System is not yet turned on. If it is already
turned on, turn off then on again so that the selector setting
becomes active.
Connect only component video cord or SCART cable at one
time. SCART cable can convey composite video signals,
RGB signals, and S-Video signals. But S-Video signals
output only when the VIDEO OUT SELECTOR is set to
Y/C.
• DO NOT connect more than one speaker to
each terminal.
• DO NOT allow the conductor of the speaker
cords to be in touch with the metallic parts of
the System.
