Cut-Through Mode
Cut-through mode enables a frame to be forwarded to a destination 
address even before the entire frame has been received. You can 
configure the required number of cells to be received before transmission 
starts. 
Refer to Figure 15-1 for a comparison of Store-and-Forward and 
Cut-Through modes.

Timeout Tuning
Timeout tuning is used for assigning timeout delays for both hardware 
and software. These parameters are used to avoid cells being stuck in the 
7600 Card for extended periods of time. This usually occurs when the 
frame was not assembled correctly and is too long, or the last cell of the 
frame was not received from the ATM ports. The timeout mechanism only 
applies to frames arriving from the ATM on their way to the Ethernet 
ports or the software. The mechanism gets rid of these frames by 
terminating them as erred frames.
