UPC-A 

 

This is a fixed -length bar code that is 
composed of 12 figures of numerals 
only.  

UPC-E 

 

This is a fixed -length bar code that is 
composed of 8 figures of numerals 
only. This bar code is a shortened 
version of UPC-A.  

JAN- 13 

 

This is a fixed -length bar code that is 
composed of 13 figures of numerals 
only.  

JAN-8 

 

This is a fixed -length bar code that is 
composed of 8 figures of numerals 
only.  

CODE 39 

 This 

is 

a 

variable -length 

bar 

code 

that is composed of alphabetic 
characters and numerals. The start 
and stop ' * ' characters are attached 
automatically.  

ITF 

 
 

This is an even-numbered variable-
length bar code that is composed of 
numerals only .  

CODABAR

that is composed of alphabetic 
characters. For the start and stop 
characters, one of 'abcd' is required.  

CODE 128 

 

This is a variable -length bar code 
that is composed of any of the 128 
ASCII code characters.
