Perform steps 17-22 if you 

are replacing the logic board 

and a double-sided DRAM 

SIMM is installed next to a 

processor heat sink. (Some 

logic boards do not include a 

processor heat sink.)

 

  Be careful not to 

disturb the layer of thermal 

grease on the bottom of the 

heat sink and the top of the 

processor chip.
17 Release the four heat 

sink tabs from the 

Logic Board
