2-10 Basic Configuration
Parameters
Defaults
If not specified, ip‐mask will be set to the natural mask of the ip‐address and ip‐gateway will be set to 
the ip‐address.
Mode
Switch command, read‐write.
Usage
Paramters must be entered in the order shown (host IP, then mask, then gateway) for the 
command to be accepted. 
Example
This example shows how to set the system IP address to
 
10.1.10.1 with a mask of 255.255.128.0:
D2(su)->set ip address 10.1.10.1 mask 255.255.128.0
clear ip address
Use this command to clear the system IP address.
Syntax
clear ip address 
Parameters
None.
Defaults
None.
Mode

Example
This example shows how to clear the system IP address:
D2(rw)->clear ip address 
 ip‐address
Sets the IP address for the system. .
mask ip‐mask
(Optional) Sets the system’s subnet mask.
gateway ip‐gateway
(Optional) Sets the system’s default gateway (next‐hop device).
