Installing applications from the Internet
You can use the web browser on your smartphone to install Palm OS files (PRC or PDB) directly
from the Internet. When you download a PRC or PDB file, it is automatically installed on your
smartphone. If a file is compressed (ZIP or SIT), you need to download it to your computer and
expand the file before installing it on your smartphone.

1. Open the web browser (see “Viewing a web page” on page 50).
2. Go to the page that contains the link to the application you want to download.
3. Press Left or Right to highlight the link to the file, and then press Center
to initiate
the download process.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to accept and install the application.
Installing applications from a computer
NOTE
To install an application from your computer to your Treo smartphone, you must first install Palm Desktop software
on your computer (see the User Guide for instructions).
1. Windows: Drag and drop the file(s) onto the Palm Quick Install icon on the
Windows desktop.
Mac: Drag and drop the file(s) onto the Send To Handheld droplet in the Palm
folder.

2. Select your device name from the User list, and then click OK.
3. Synchronize
your smartphone with your computer to install the application(s) on your Treo
smartphone.
