5.8 ENGINE ADJUSTMENTS & REPAIR

5.9 MOWER BLADE REPLACEMENT
5.9.1. BLADE WEAR LIMITS
1. Inspect blade frequently for signs of excessive
wear or damage. Replace blade when it reaches the
wear limit. See Figure 5.14.

5.9.2. BLADE SHARPENING
1. Remove blade. See Figure 5.15.
2. Inspect condition of blade. See Figure 5.14.
3. If blade is in good condition, sharpen at 22 to 28
degrees. DO NOT sharpen beyond original cutting
edge. See Figure 5.16.
4. Check blade balance after sharpening. If
necessary, correct blade balance by grinding the
heavy end of blade.

a qualified dealer.
