Make sure the printer power switch is set to OFF (see Figure 21). 
Connect the (customer-supplied) interface cable from the host computer 
to the appropriate printer interface connector (see Figure 20). Refer to 
Chapter 5, “Interfaces,” for descriptions of the connectors and their pin 
assignments.

a.

Remove the cover from the interface connector you have selected.

b.

Hold the interface cable below its connector, and gently attach the 
cable connector to the printer interface connector.

Plug the power cord into the printer AC power connector, then into the AC 
power outlet (see Figure 21).
