Connecting a Wireless LAN (WLAN)
Use your computer’s built-in wireless LAN module to
access your home or office network. The wireless LAN
module is powered by the Intel® PROSet/Wireless utility.
Wireless systems work in infrastructure mode or peer-to-
peer mode. In infrastructure mode, wireless devices com-
municate to a wired LAN via access points. In ad-hoc mode
(also known as peer-to-peer mode), wireless devices com-
municate with each other directly and do not use an access
point.
To connect to a wireless network:
1.
Press Fn + F8 to enable the wireless LAN module.
2.
The Intel(R) PROSet wireless module automatically
scans for available networks.
3.
Follow the on-screen prompts to access a network.
Click Help in the Intel® PROSet/Wireless utility for
assistance.
4.
Click the utility icon in the system tray at any time to
open the Intel PROSet Utility.
