Frame Relay Module
The Frame Relay Module mounts into an MMAC-Plus chassis, and connects to an
Ethernet module in the chassis via a cable from an Ethernet port on the FRM. The
FRM draws power from the chassis, but does not interact with other modules in the
chassis (except the Ethernet interface module). The intent of the FRM is to provide the
functionality of an 8-port FRX6000 in a module that occupies two slots in an existing
MMAC-Plus (thereby eliminating the extra space that an FRX6000 would require).

There are three models of the FRM, differing in the types of serial ports. Each model
contains the following:

The types of serial ports depend on the model:
●
9W001-08 = four V.35 ports and four RS-232 ports
●
9W002-08 = four V.35 ports and four RS-422 ports
(which provide RS-449 or X.21 interfaces via cables)
