WAN and 3G Screens
8.1  Overview
This chapter discusses the ZyWALL’s WAN and 3G screens. Use these screens to configure 
your ZyWALL for Internet access.
A WAN (Wide Area Network) connection is an outside connection to another network or the 
Internet. It connects your private networks (such as a LAN (Local Area Network) and other 
networks, so that a computer in one location can communicate with computers in other 
locations.
The ZyWALL has a multiple WAN feature which enables you to have a wired WAN 
connection and a 3G (WAN) connection. You can configure the distribution of traffic on the 
WAN connections using the load balancing settings. The following figure shows a wired WAN 
connection and a 3G (WAN) connection.

8.1.1  What You Can Do in the WAN Screens
• Use the General screen (
to configure load balancing, route 
priority, and connection test settings for the ZyWALL.
• Use the WAN 1 screen (
) to configure the WAN1 interface for 
Internet access on the ZyWALL.
• Use  the 3G (WAN 2) screen (
) to configure the WAN2 interface 
for Internet access on the ZyWALL.
