Mounting Considerations
CAUTION:
When choosing a location for mounting the speakers, make
certain the wall or ceiling material is sturdy enough to support the weight of the
speakers.
1.
Decide where the speakers will be mounted.  Be careful not to

mount them over a stud or any other obstruction and at least

3/4” from the stud.
2.
It is recommended for maximum performance, although not

necessary, that you place a piece of fiberglass or some similar

dampening material behind the speaker.
3.
Be certain you can run the speaker wire to the point where the

speaker will be mounted.  Phase Technology recommends 18

gauge for distances up to 15 feet and a minimum of 16 gauge for

distances up to 50 feet.  For longer lengths or purer signal

connections, consult your retailer.
4.
The grilles and baffle edge come in an off-white finish. Paint them using a

good quality interior or exterior paint in the color of your choice. Place the

grille in the baffle prior to painting. The cloth behind the grille will keep the

paint from getting on the speakers. Use as light a coating as possible to

avoid clogging the holes in the grille.

**Do not paint the speaker drivers as this could cause damage**
Mounting Instructions
1. Using the template as a guide (inside package filler), carefully cut a
hole in the wall or ceiling.  Find the speaker wire leads and pull them through.

2. Remove the grille from the speaker system.
3. Locate the speaker wire and attach it to the CI input terminals: red/plus,
black/minus
4. If you are using any dampening material, secure it in the hole behind where
the speaker will be located.
5. Place the speaker in the cut-out.
6. Turn the four locking screws counterclockwise one full turn to release the
locking clamps.  Once released, turn them clock-wise until they firmly clamp the
speaker to the mounting surface.
7. Position the grille on the baffle and firmly push it into the flange until you feel
it is securely in position.
8. The speaker system is now ready to be turned on.
9. For removal of the custom installation speaker remove the grille.  Turn the
four locking screws counterclockwise until they release from the wall or ceiling.
Then pull the system out and disconnect the speaker wires.
