Linerless Label Receipt Paper
The Ithaca 8000 printer is designed to use linerless label receipt paper.

The life of the thermal head, when two-color paper is used, is reduced to half of the
life when single-color thermal paper is used.
Use only specified thermal paper. If other paper is used, print quality, head life, and
cutter life may deteriorate.
Linerless Receipt Paper
Once some Linerless receipt papers are used in the printer, it is no longer
compatible with standard receipt paper. This printer is supplied with a special
drive mechanism that is unaffected by the sticky material used on the paper,
some of the sticky material will coat the driver rolls and will cause normal receipt
paper to stick in the printer and cause a jam. Contact TransAct Technologies

Some linerless papers require that the printer be carefully configured and used to
prevent auto cuts from occurring where the sticky material is applied. All
linerless label receipt papers that must be cut in specific locations are supplied
with black dot markers on the paper. If the paper being used the printer will
automatically configure itself to cut the paper at the black mark. In some cases
the application must be made aware that the printer will automatically align the
black mark with the cutter. If the configuration of the printer is altered such that
the cutter will not cut at the black mark or the paper has sticky material at the
black dot, the warranty is void.

Paper Out
A receipt paper out sensor is provided as a standard feature. It senses when there is
approximately .5 inches length of paper left on the paper roll.
