Software for the new Cisco Catalyst
®
Express 520
Series switches. The new Cisco Catalyst Express 520 Series switch is a fixed-configuration,
managed Ethernet switch that provides eight ports of 10/100 Power over Ethernet (PoE). The
Cisco Catalyst Express 520 Series switch is designed for ease of deployment and ships with a
predefined software configuration to work immediately with the Cisco Unified Communications 500
Series for Small Business. The Cisco Catalyst Express 520 Series switch can also be managed
and configured using the Cisco Configuration Assistant.
This new Layer 2-managed Fast Ethernet PoE switch offers non-blocking, wire-speed
performance, and provides a secure network foundation optimized for data, wireless, and voice-
over-IP (VoIP) communications. (See Table 1.)

This product bulletin provides content and delivery information about Cisco IOS Software release
12.2(35)EX, which is the first Cisco IOS Software release that provides support for the Cisco
Catalyst Express 520 Series switches. Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(35)EX is an Early
Deployment release, based on Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(35)EXX.

The Cisco Catalyst Express 520 Series switches are manageable through the GUI Device
Manager or Cisco Configuration Assistant. Table 2 lists the features supported in Cisco IOS
Software Release 12.2(35)EX, and Table 3 lists product specifications.
